International Christian University (ICU), in collaboration with the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies of Aichi Prefectural University (APU), is proud to host the Second International Conference on Legal and Healthcare Interpreting in Tokyo, Japan. This conference aims to bring together participants from all over the world and to enable scholars to present their latest research findings in interpreting studies as well as for educators to exchange pedagogical ideas in interpreter education. This 3-day event will feature individual paper presentation sessions as well as a MEXT-funded public symposium convened by the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies of Aichi Prefectural University (APU).

Topic Areas:
We invite abstracts of papers addressing issues in legal and healthcare interpreting, including but not limited to the following:
-Research findings on challenges of interpreting in legal or healthcare settings
-Innovative pedagogies and assessment methods in interpreting
-Interpreter professional development
We also invite papers addressing interpreting issues in other community settings, including gender issues.
Presentation:
Individual paper presenters have 20 minutes for presentation and further 10 minutes for Q & A.
