為慶祝美國建國250周年，紐約市於7月4日美國獨立日舉辦史上規模最大高桅帆船艦隊大型海上慶典「Sail4th 250」，來自全球22個國家的30多艘高桅帆船（Tall Ships）及多國海軍艦艇齊聚紐約港，沿哈德遜河（Hudson River）展開壯觀的高桅帆船大巡遊。活動並結合國際海軍閱艦式、空中分列式、登船參觀及岸上展演，打造紐約今年獨立日最具代表性的慶祝活動。
