這些受破壞的小型村莊被稱為「基布茲」（kibbutz），是以色列常見的集體社區體制。當前加薩戰火未見平息，而位於南部區的幾個基布茲發展出一種全新的旅遊行程——團結之旅（Solidarity Tours）——吸引世界各地的旅客造訪這些「傷痛遺址」，讓遊客實地見證哈瑪斯帶來的破壞，並且感受到當地居民的困境。
