綜合外電報導，馬斯克22日受訪時，痛批青少年變性問題，稱薇薇安「不是女孩」且「已死了」，他發文表示，愛子出生時是同性戀，患有輕微自閉症，這兩個特徵導致了性別不安（gender dysphoria），「我從他4歲左右就知道，他會為我挑選衣服，例如夾克，並告訴我太棒了！以及他對音樂劇和戲劇的熱愛。但他不是一個女孩。」
