翻查資料，源禾遊樂場在2006年8月亦曾發生過同類型的工業意外，造成兩名男工人死亡，當年其中一人進入污水渠工作時，吸入沼氣昏迷，另一人爬入拯救時亦吸入沼氣，結果雙雙昏倒渠內。數小時後同事發現失蹤，四處尋找，始驚揭意外，兩人送院搶救，最終均告不治。

Three other workers were also sent to the hospital as they felt unwell, suspectedly due to the smell of the marsh gas, more commonly known as methane gas, at the scene.
