環保署回應有關垃圾收費指定袋物料的傳媒查詢時表示，在選擇指定袋物料時，已考慮到相關耐用性和環保原則，因此規定指定袋必須含有至少20%回收膠，以減少原生塑膠的成分。

EPD said the bags’ durability and environmental protection principles have been considered when selecting the materials for the designated bags, which is why the bags must contain at least 20 percent recycled plastic to reduce the content of virgin plastic.
