民航處有參與C919研發的前期工作，詹永年說，民航處的專家在多個範疇有豐富經驗和知識，相關知識與及對國際民航組織的熟悉，對C919的審批有一定貢獻，亦因為民航處專家參與過相關工作，如果C919日後要在本港取得型號合格證或適航證，相信會有很大幫助。
