Nexperia, a Dutch chip manufacturer owned by China’s Wingtech, said Monday it plans to acquire Newport Wafer Fab, the UK’s largest chip fabrication plant. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed but a source told CNBC that the fab is worth around £63 million ($87 million).
