除了教育不公加劇，疫情亦在其他方面令「數碼鴻溝」（digital divide）浮現。不少評論指出，為保持社交距離，人們將工作、學習、購物、與親友交流等日常生活遷移網上進行是重要出路，但目前全球各地仍有許多人無快速互聯網連接，在疫情下他們猶如與社會割裂，甚至影響關乎生死的決定，有必要盡快收窄鴻溝。
