美國西雅圖綠色殯葬公司Recompose表示經4年研究後成功測試「堆肥葬」技術，讓遺體的軟組織在30天內完全分解，這過程較火葬或傳統土葬可減少逾1噸碳排放。這項全球首創的遺體堆肥（human composting）服務預計明年2月在華盛頓州推出。
