英國上月底脫歐後，英國政府隨即於星期二（19日）公布工作簽證計分制的政策措施，要求申請者符合指定分數方符申請資格，新制度最快於2021年1月1日實施。新措施仿傚澳洲、新西蘭等地引入計分制，明顯是向低技術工人落閘，要求申請者的英文水平要達標及薪金達到指定水平。
