政府今早在禮賓府宴會廳，舉行勳銜頒授典禮，政府早前表示，因應近日的社會氣氛，典禮改以閉門形式進行。民主黨立法會議員許智峯發新聞稿表示，他在頒授警隊卓越獎章環節期間，舉起「暴警殺人，沉冤待雪」的標語，並高叫口號抗議，最後被多名保安員抬走。

警方被指濫權濫暴觸發的大規模示威衝突持續，踏入11月社會氣氛仍然緊繃。而一年一度的授勳儀式今年就在禮賓府閉門舉行。
