港澳辦星期二（6日）召開「媒體吹風會」時，以「觸目驚心」來形容示威者，要求香港家長「把他們充滿莫名憤怒的孩子領回家」，又稱「反對派逼迫林鄭月娥辭職的圖謀絶對不會得逞」。發言人還形容九龍尖沙咀再次有人把中國國旗拆下投海是「囂張至極」、「喪心病狂」。
