市民自發 727 「遊元朗」活動於下午 5 時左右演變為警民衝突，期間有市民、社工被警方以警棍擊傷，也有記者受傷倒地。入夜警民在元朗站附近對峙呈膠著狀態，但接近 9 時半，民眾慢慢散去之際，警方突然施放催淚煙及海綿彈，雙方再次爆發衝突。速龍小隊之後更攻入西鐵站揮棍打人，又施放胡椒噴霧。速龍小隊及後撤走，現場部分人被制服，有人受傷倒地，需救護員救治。

The authorities confirmed use of tear gas, rubber bullets and foam rounds, a response of “appropriate force,” saying some protesters threw smoke bombs and bottles containing corrosive liquids at officers.
