Fortunately, experienced Ford engine builder Joe Sherman says that even a 347ci build (4.030-inch bore x 3.400-inch stroke) doesn’t come close to causing bottom-end interference when using a Scat crank and Scat 5.400-inch center-to-center capscrew-style connecting rods (whether H-beam or I-beam) designed for use in that stroker application. On the Ford using Scat parts with up to a 3.4-inch stroke, the rod bolts don’t hit the cam, and the crank or rods won’t impinge into the oil pan rail area.
