美國國會「美中經濟與安全檢討委員會」(USCC)的最新年度報告，指中國正侵蝕香港特區的自治，外交部駐港特派員公署發言人回應指，USCC一向以有色眼鏡看待中國，批評報告肆意抹黑中央政府對港政策，無端詆毀香港民主、自由、法治等狀況，罔顧事實，充滿偏見，對此表示強烈不滿和堅決反對。
