當香港人已經覺得港鐵（066）工程不斷延誤「是常識吧」，但結果再一次令人失望，今次做法更加大膽，除了擅自改動工程結構偷工減料，罔顧人命安全外，甚至在向政府提交的調查報告記錄中造假，意圖掩飾一些不為人知的細節。

In response to the shoddy construction work revealed by whistle-blowers and the media, Chan dismissed calls to break open parts of the corner-cutting scandal station platform to inspect the faulty steel bars, claiming that the suggestion of opening the concrete for inspection to be “without any scientific justification”.
