遲淡寧回應指，現時法例無要求一般寵物犬、工作犬如警犬、緝毒犬戴口罩。她指協會在篩選導盲犬十分嚴謹，若狗隻在訓練期間有情緒問題，即不會成為導盲犬。遲形容戴口罩對狗隻是懲罰，會阻礙牠們的工作，而且世界各地導盲犬均不會戴口罩。

In fact, ferries (except the Star Ferry) are the only form of public transport in Hong Kong that allow pets on board. The owner has to pay the fare for each animal, big dogs need to wear muzzles, and small cats and dogs are required to stay inside pet bags.
