據報，近年有一種在歐美頗為流行、沒有踏板及制動器的幼童滑步車（又稱平衡車）被引入香港。有不少家長認為平衡車因行駛速度較慢而較一般單車安全，因此樂於陪同幼童騎平衡車。

It has been reported that push bikes (also known as balance bikes), a kind of pedal-less and brake-less bicycle for small children which are quite popular in Europe and America, have been introduced into Hong Kong in recent years.
