立陶宛國防部上周四提出在歐盟建立所謂「軍事神根」（military Schengen）機制，以便軍事力量調動應對俄國威脅。「軍事神根」一詞借自歐盟容許公民在成員國之間免除邊境管制自由跨境遷移的《神根公約》。

The military Schengen idea is a reference to the EU’s existing agreement to allow civilians to travel freely between participating countries with no or light border control checks.
