This is the first time that a non-in-situ land exchange has been conducted in Hong Kong on the basis of conservation. With its relatively unpolluted streams, marshes and woodland, the enclave ranks second only to the Mai Po and the Inner Deep Bay Ramsar Site in ecological significance.
