民建聯周浩鼎突然改變態度，辭去立法會UGL事件專責委員會職務，令不少政界及民主派議員均感意外。有分析認為，建制派內有聲音叫周辭職，相信是原因之一。但特首梁振英由北京回港後，對今次事件態度出現微妙變化，亦可能影響周取態，不排除北京有人要事件盡快平息止血，以免對國家主席習近平7月訪港添煩添亂。
