南韓蓋洛普民調公司在國會表決彈劾總統朴槿惠前數小時，發布最新民調數字稱，高達81%的受訪者支持國會通過彈劾議案，而朴槿惠的支持率仍在歷史低點徘徊，僅獲5%。在即將表決彈劾議案的國會外，大量民眾手持標語，要求朴槿惠下台。

The legislature has also accused Ms. Park of undermining freedom of the press by cracking down on her critics in the news media, and of failing to protect citizens in a 2014 ferry disaster that killed over 300 people.
