美國號稱是民族大熔爐，自詡能夠把來自全球各地的移民融為一體，但碰到大選年，民族熔爐似乎只是存在於理想之中，房地產大亨川普（Donald  Trump）極端歧視墨西哥移民、穆斯林的言論，沒有阻礙他爭取成為美國共和黨總統提名候選人的聲勢。最近一項民調顯示，美國民眾非常不喜歡移民，排外心態讓他們更可能支持川普這樣的人物。
