由上水鄉事委員會主席侯志強、元朗十八鄉鄉事委員會主席梁福元等多名鄉事牽頭組成的新政黨「新進步聯盟」，早前傳出遭中聯辦施壓「㩒停」，更有15個鄉事委員會聯手並高調反對，但「新進聯」仍毋懼反對聲音，近日已向各路人馬派發請帖，邀請他們出席本月25日的成立典禮，鄉事組黨已事在必行。
