7月1日早上約8時15分，台灣隸屬海軍131艦隊的金江艦在進行裝備檢查時，錯誤發射一枚「雄風三型反艦飛彈」（Hsiung Feng III，簡稱雄三飛彈）。台灣國防部下午證實，飛彈落在澎湖海域，擊中一艘高雄籍漁船翔利昇號；飛彈貫穿漁船船身，造成船難，漁船黃姓船長死亡，另有多人受輕傷。
