這個名為「伽利略」的全球定位系統，是由歐盟及歐洲太空總署合作，經過15年時間開發的，其中很多重要的研發部分都是由英國公司貢獻。開發這個新的定位系統的目的，是要脫離以前依賴由美國、俄羅斯或中國提供的技術，建立歐盟本身可控制的定位系統。

The secretary general for China’s space agency, Tian Yulong, first disclosed the talks about the envisioned lunar base in Chinese state media. They were confirmed today by Pal Hvistendahl, a spokesman for the European Space Agency, or ESA.
