規劃署正就《香港2030+：跨越2030年的規劃遠景與策略》進行諮詢，當中提出在中部水域填海，發展東大嶼都會惹爭議；守護大嶼聯盟反對大規模發展，認為填海無必要，擔心人工島接駁梅窩，破壞環境，現已有私人地被斬樹準備發展，反建議善用欣澳空置土地和發展棕地。
