自廣州出現一宗疑似沙士個案後，新加坡及意大利即時恢復對所有中國入境旅客實施檢疫，本港衞生署在各出入境檢疫站已為五十三萬人次進行檢疫，發現四十四名內地入境旅客有發燒症狀，其中五人更需送往急症室，最後有兩人留院，但他們主要是腸胃病及呼吸道問題，相信並非染上沙士。
