身兼「全城清潔策劃小組」總指揮的政務司司長曾蔭權，昨日親臨前線視察深水埗舊區唐樓的清洗工作；而食物環境衞生署人員則展開全港性突擊搜查行動，分別打擊不符合衞生標準的食肆，及巡查舊式樓宇的清潔情況，一日內合共作出二百三十五宗檢控及發出近七百張通知書及口頭警告，其間曾遭檢控的食肆東主指摘掃蕩行動趕絕他們的生計。
