《明報》以「再佔彌敦道」為題報道說，旺角在警方大規模清除路障不足12小時後，星期五（17日）晚上示威者再次與警方爆發衝突，突襲警方防線。警方多次舉起黃紅旗、施放胡椒噴霧及使用警棍驅散人群，但苦戰五小時後仍未能控制場面，示威者重新佔領彌敦道。
