催淚手榴彈、催淚子彈(11/2吋和反彈槍子彈)、胡椒噴霧器都內有並能夠噴射催淚化學劑，使用時必須遵守警隊有關使用武力的指令(警察通例第29-01條)。必須緊記，催淚溶液並非絕對無害，同時應符合程序手冊第29-02條及內部保安手冊第1-13條所載關於使用武力程度的規定。

Hong Kong police often uses tear gas, among other things, to disperse the thousands of citizens that participate on the Occupy Central demonstrations. The stabilised gif above shows a badass protester catching one of those tear gas grenades midair and throwing it back at them.
