根據本報記者、DBC數碼電台及《蘋果日報》前晚拍攝到多個片段，一批市民在彌敦道上海商業銀行外向亞皆老街方向離開期間，被一批穿著警察背心的便衣警員，用伸縮警棍打和驅趕，及後在現場的警司朱經緯揮動木警棍擊向多名市民；當中一名以身體遮擋其女性友人的男子，兩度被兩批警員以警棍擊中手臂和肩部，其後大叫「我路過㗎咋」。

The police said today they have arrested a mainland man after he was found with a suspected expandable baton in his cabin luggage during security check at the Hong Kong International Airport this afternoon.

The police arrived after a member of staff reported the incident and evacuated customers. They talked to the man as an officer stood on guard holding an extendable baton.
