身兼監警會成員的港大法律系首席講師張達明表示，從目前情況來看，三子有可能干犯《公安條例》中參與未經批准集會罪，屬刑事罪行，惟罪行與詐騙及非禮等刑事案輕得多，法庭對初犯者多判以罰款，只要涉案者在3年內不重犯，有關刑事紀錄會被「洗底」。
