1966年，天星小輪加價五仙，引發騷亂，造成一人死亡，近廿人受傷，千多人被捕。事隔一年，香港又發生更大規模的左派暴動，歷時近半年，規模更大，死傷被捕人數更多。六六騷亂，發自本土，六七暴動，則受大陸極左思潮影響，兩者本來不可相提並論。但近似之處，接連兩次騷亂的參加者，年輕人為數眾多。
