If the soul of Scotland’s independence resides anywhere, Scone is an obvious candidate. It was once the home of the Stone of Destiny, the place where Scottish kings were anointed – before the English stole the stone and took it to Westminster in 1296.

一塊叫做「加冕石」、「命運之石」或者直譯為斯昆石的石頭，象徵了英格蘭和蘇格蘭糾纏不清的關係。
這塊石頭的英文有「The Coronation stone」、「Stone of Destiny」以及「Stone of scone」。
這塊石頭，根據蘇格蘭的傳說，是蘇格蘭第一個聯合部落宗族成為王國的國王「加冕」時（不過他當時沒有皇冠，所以這裏用括號），就是坐在這塊石頭上。
