美軍周四有方法紓解後勤補給不足——在伊拉克南部奪取了納西里耶（ Nasiriyah）市的泰勒利爾（ Tallil）機場，闢作美軍主要後勤補給基地。原本由科威特邊境北上伊拉克首都巴格達的近五百公里長補給線，如今約可縮短三分一，減少遭伊軍伏擊之虞。
