伊拉克一向重視炮兵部隊建設，伊拉克炮兵曾經在兩伊戰爭中以壓倒性優勢重創伊朗步兵部隊。伊軍裝備的各類壓制火炮曾多達上萬門，現在的火炮保有量仍在6000門以上。這些火炮按性能基本可分為三個檔次。
