屋苑位處山坡旁，設有擋土牆，牆外為屋苑斜坡（編號3SW-C/C290）以及由屋苑業權人負責維修及保養的「綠色黑影線地帶」（見另稿），影線地帶以上則為政府土地。按政府發言人指出，餘下位於影線地帶以外的排水，一般由渠務署按照處理天然水道的政策跟進。

“Without any vegetation cover, the water temperature was too high for living organisms to survive and the water became polluted and stagnant,” engineer Keith Tam Kit-fan from the Drainage Services Department, said.
