消防員向校方借來數條長竹及綁上刀片,自製工具伸出圍網外,花上近一個小時成功將纏着白鷺的風箏線剪斷,白鷺始解困,惟隨即跌下山坡,在場人員因失去牠的蹤影,於是走落山坡尋找,並且一度出動生命探測器搜索,及後有途人指已見該隻白鷺飛走,救援人員始收隊離場。
