消防員向校方借來數條長竹及綁上刀片，自製工具伸出圍網外，花上近一個小時成功將纏着白鷺的風箏線剪斷，白鷺始解困，惟隨即跌下山坡，在場人員因失去牠的蹤影，於是走落山坡尋找，並且一度出動生命探測器搜索，及後有途人指已見該隻白鷺飛走，救援人員始收隊離場。
