英國醫學期刊《胸腔》（Thorax）刊登了這宗「風笛肺」的致命病例，患者是一名61歲老翁，經常吹奏風笛，其後出現呼吸困難和咳嗽徵狀，並感染肺炎，至2014年病逝。
