入境處由2006年開始實行婚姻監禮人計劃，讓新人可選擇獲政府委任為婚姻監禮人的律師，於本港任何地點註冊（婚姻登記處及特許禮拜場所除外），想於大吉日註冊再不用「爭崩頭」。

The Government will introduce a Civil Celebrant of Marriages Scheme in response to the increasing public demand for more flexible marriage solemnisation services and to make use of private sector resources in providing such services. Under the scheme, a marriage can be celebrated before a civil celebrant at any time and place, other than a Marriage Registry or a licensed place of public worship.
