1989年4月15日英國足總盃準決賽在英格蘭北部雪菲爾（Sheffield）的希爾斯堡球場（Hillsborough）點燃戰火，由利物浦（Liverpool）迎戰諾丁罕森林（Nottingham Forest），當天下午豔陽高照，以鐵絲圍圍起的球場擠入太多觀眾，引發推擠慘劇，許多死者是年輕人。
