較為可惜的是，孫中山生前曾經吩咐葬禮儀式和棺木式樣仿照蘇聯前領導人列寧的格式，讓民眾瞻仰遺容。可是當孫中山逝世時，蘇聯政府贈送的玻璃鋼棺材沒能及時運到；等到送來玻璃鋼棺材時，遺體已入殮半個多月。由於當時技術原因，防腐措施不當，遺容不能再供後人瞻仰。
