「高富帥」多指那些身材高大、富有、帥氣的男生，是一種新興提煉詞語的方式：取開頭的第一個字。「高富帥」擁有名車、豪宅，而且收入普遍很高，每個月消費中比例最大的是應酬，其次是休閒娛樂。「高富帥」往往會博得眾多女性的青睞，在戀愛、婚姻中獲得成功，也是眾多女性追捧的對象。

Yet as the term went viral on the Internet, Chinese youth from all backgrounds began to embrace it. It has become a self-deprecating counter to the gaofushuai, or the “tall-rich-handsome,” those with status, success, and bright futures.
