以往每年八月，是紮鐵行業勞資談判的時候，勞方代表是工聯會屬下的「紮鐵工會」，資方則以各大紮鐵工程公司組成「紮鐵商會」為代表，當然，每年訂出的工資調幅，無論最後資方接受與否，不過是「散工」的指標價，地盤上的工程公司是否跟隨，又是另一回事。
