第十二屆全國人民代表大會第五次會議5日在北京人民大會堂開幕，國務院總理李克強在開幕式上宣讀了《政府工作報告》，除了總結去年的工作，以及部署2017年的工作計劃外，李克強在報告的最後也傳達了北京對香港問題、台灣問題的立場與態度。

Premier Li Keqiang warned on Sunday that the notion of “Hong Kong independence” will lead nowhere.

He gave the warning in his annual Government Work Report at the opening of the fifth session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) at the Great Hall of the People.
