立法會還未復會，行政會議成員、新民黨主席葉劉淑儀暑假期間曾一度表示，不會連任立法會議席，部署接班工作，但她接受《星島日報》專訪時澄清，該說法屬誤會，自己未說過不再參選立法會議員、或部署新民黨「交棒」，她的最新部署更是挑戰山頂區議員議席。
