綠色力量於2018年4月於沙螺洞開展「沙螺洞生境及生物多樣性保育計劃2018-2020」的保育項目，涵蓋沙螺洞的核心部分，約11.5公頃，佔沙螺洞約五分之一面積，包括闢建生態池塘及人工濕地等，以提升其生態功能。
