About the Glossary

This database consists of thousands and thousands of Chinese-English terms and expressions collected from the news dating back to 2003, the year when SARS broke out in Hong Kong. The bilingual legal terms related to criminal justice are the output of my newly completed Teaching Development Grants project (2014-15) – From Courtroom to Classroom. The database is updated regularly to include more recent terms from the news. Where possible, excerpts of the news article in which the terms appear and their links are provided for users’ easy access.
